EXPRESS LANGUAGES – EXPRESS RESULTS

Group Classes

Before a new set of classes starts, we will evaluate your Spanish language skills by using a written test, as well as an oral interview.

Group classes incorporate current affairs and Hispano-American news and customs as discussion topics. Our program will allow you to communicate with native speakers.

These classes will develop your Spanish language skills to the point where you can communicate in everyday practical situations. Our group classes focus on conversational skills, but also cover the important basics of grammar, so that you are able to effectively communicate in Spanish through writing, reading, speaking, and listening

Meet once a week for 1 ½ hour.
Tuition is 180 per month plus a one-time 160 registration fee, which includes books and materials.

Class twice a week 1 ½ hour group class and 1½ hour Skype class
Tuition is 360 per month plus a one-time 160 registration fee, which includes books and materials.

Dave Jaye

English Professor

Dave is our recruiting specialist and a much appreciated member of our team, since he is our link to the Naples community. Dave works with students and corporations to promote English at the workplace.Dave Jaye earned his Masters Degree and Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan and Ph.D. studies at Michigan State University. Dave Jaye received his ESOL and teaching certifications from the State of Florida.

As a visiting Professor, Dave taught Freshman English, Business, Economics, Public Policy and preparation to study overseas at several South Korean Universities and Edison College. He has taught seminars and weekly classes on Presentations, Business Writing, Meetings, Telephoning, Culture and Negotiating English skills for several S. Korean and American Corporations. Dave Jaye helped organize and taught High School and Middle School home stay programs for international students visiting and studying in Naples, FL.

Corinna Girard

Corinna holds a degree in French and Secondary Education from Carson in Jefferson City, TN. She studied at Al Akkhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco and La Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Adriana Fuller

Adriana Fuller holds a degree in English Education/American & British Literatures from Rio de Janeiro State University, Brazil. Her goal is to teach a foreign language in such a way that her students feel they are having fun and acquiring the target language as one they feel comfortable with. The exchange of opinions and life experiences on different topics are widely brought out in class along with the current lesson, which encourages students to feel at ease with the instructor. Engaging in natural conversation will help students succeed with their communication at work.

Tina Scudelletti-Alabbas

Born in Cleveland, I lived in Italy from age 6 till age 14 where I attended the Italian schools. My college career began with attending Marymount College in Boca Raton, now called Lynn University, and achieved my Associates Degree. In my junior year, I attended the American School of Barcelona Spain through Temple University.
I completed my senior year at Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio for my senior year concentrated in a major in Spanish followed by a minor in Political Science, Social Studies, History and International Business. I attended Cleveland State University to achieve my teaching credentials.
In 2008, I attended Grand Canyon University to achieve my Master of Education in Technology.
Presently, I teach Italian and Spanish for the collier county school system and English and Italian at Express Languages!

Joan Hoffmeister

Joan Hoffmeister was born in Italy. At the age of 5, her family immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina and there Joan started her formal Spanish education. She grew up speaking both Spanish and Italian at home. At the age of 15, she moved with her family to New York City where she attended high school and college. After receiving a Master’s degree in Spanish and French from Saint John’s University, Joan taught for 9 years in the New York public school system.

She then received a contract to teach Spanish, Italian and French at the Tehran American School in Tehran, Iran. She taught there for 5 years and then went on to Manama, Bahrain where she taught English to the Bahrainis at the British Council and Batelco Local University for another five years. Later, Joan received a grant from the French government to attend a summer program at the Language Institute in Becanson, France to enrich her knowledge of the French language and culture.
Joan has lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Joan came to Naples, Florida in 1985 and has taught at Naples High School, Barron Collier High School and Gulfview Middle School. She has also taught French and Spanish at the Summer Program for Children 5 – 12. Joan was awarded Teacher of Distinction by the Collier County School System.
Joan is passionate about teaching other languages and cultures. She makes learning a language an exhilarating experience by incorporating speaking, writing, and reading along with the culture and customs of the people who speak the language. Joan uses the technique of incorporating the target language as much as possible in her instruction. Of course, whenever necessary, she will use English to explain the difficult concepts of grammar and language usage. She has the knowledge and capability to implement just about every teaching technique or means available to make a foreign language come alive. Joan is truly a linguist with her many years of teaching experience.

Maria Teresa Rondon

Maria Teresa was born in Colombia. She has a degree in Languages and Education from the UIS -Universidad Industrial de Santander and is very passionate about teaching. She enjoyed living in England for three years where she received her master’s degree in Linguistics and TEFL- Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Portsmouth, where she also taught Spanish to undergraduate students.

Maria Teresa was a professor at the university and obtained a master’s degree in business administration. The past twelve years Maria Teresa has been the principal for various public schools.

She says: “Being at Express Languages in Naples, Florida has enriched my professional career and broadened my horizons. It has meant a lot of growth in every aspect of my life. I love helping my students to improve their language skills and motivate them to achieve their goals.”

Judy Lister

Judy was born in Cleveland, Ohio and learned about schools and teachers by growing up in four regions of the US. In turn, her professional career has been committed to school improvement for over forty years. She initially was an elementary school classroom teacher and then joined the Education Department faculty at Keene State College (University System of New Hampshire, NCATE accreditation). It was her good fortune to teach students in a range of undergraduate and graduate courses (early childhood child care providers, elementary and secondary teachers, special educators, school counselors, educational leaders). Her dedication lies in supporting educators to build compassionate relationships with all students and hold a deep sense of social responsibility.

Judy and her family have visited her parents in Naples, Florida for many years. In 2017 she was thrilled to meet Martha Sujevich and be invited to teach at Express Languages. With the encouragement of her two adult daughters and husband (who all have international commitments), she is excited to explore this important realm of work!”

Chloe Bellizzi

Upon graduating from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Human Rights, Chloe was bitten by the travel bug! Over the last 12 years, she has explored most of the U.S. and has lived in eight different states. Initially, she began an extensive career in agriculture and is a master gardener. Throughout her life, however, she has had a passion for volunteer work which led her to teaching adult literacy and eventually English as a second language. She possesses a Teaching Certificate from Oxford Seminars and has simply fallen in love with language learning. She has a passion for exploring the world and all its wonderful cultures. Her upbeat energy and enthusiasm make her an engaging and effective instructor. She is dedicated to fostering education by creating a stimulating and culturally friendly environment for students. Chloe is truly an inspiration for everyone around her.

Sandra Ibarra

Online Spanish Instructor

Sandra del Pilar Ibarra Romero is not just a powerhouse of academic credentials – with two master’s degrees in Political Science and Government from Andes University, advanced diplomas from Uppsala University and Portsmouth University, and a B.A. in English-Spanish Language from Universidad Pedagógica Nacional – she’s also a passionate and dynamic educator. Sandra has taught everything from English and Spanish to Political Science at top institutions like Universidad Nacional, Javeriana, Sergio Arboleda, and beyond. She’s even been invited to lecture at NYU in their Global Affairs program!

Since 2008, she’s been shaping young minds as a full-time professor at ESAP, where she teaches both undergrad and postgrad students and coordinates the Language Area. When she’s not teaching, Sandra loves cooking up delicious dishes, diving into a good book, swimming, traveling the world, and unwinding with some creative mandala drawing. She believes that language learning is the key to building tolerance and solidarity, connecting it to bigger themes like power and governance. Sandra joined the Express Languages team in 2022, bringing her wealth of knowledge and her love for fostering understanding across borders.

Christine Bonhomme

For several years, I have had the privilege of applying my skills in teaching French as a foreign language to students at various levels, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. I am committed to creating an engaging and supportive environment where students feel confident to explore the language at their own pace. I tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs of every student, focusing not only on building language proficiency but also on fostering a genuine connection with the French language.

One of my greatest joys as an instructor is raising awareness of the richness and diversity of French culture. I believe that learning a language goes hand in hand with understanding its cultural context, so I incorporate cultural elements—such as French literature, art, music, and history—into my lessons. This not only makes learning more enjoyable but also deepens students’ appreciation for the language.

Jennifer Ruzicka

Jennifer is a musician, educator, and cultural explorer Originally from the Twin Cities in Minnesota, Jennifer has called Naples, Florida her home since 2000. Her passion for learning and creativity took root early, leading her to study Piano Performance at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and delve into Cultural Anthropology at the University of Wales/Lampeter. For over 30 years, Jennifer has graced stages across Europe, Colombia, the UK, and the U.S., as a professional musician, blending her artistry with cultural exploration.

Jennifer’s journey is far from conventional—while living abroad in the vibrant city of Prague, she discovered her love for teaching. By fusing English lessons with her passion for piano, she created a one-of-a-kind learning experience for her students. Heilen Chappie holds a BA in English from the University of Costa Rica and a TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certification from Oxford Seminars. With a passion for both teaching and cultural exchange, Heilen has over 17 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at LAL Fort Lauderdale.

Her approach to teaching focuses on empowering students from diverse backgrounds to reach their language goals, fostering both confidence and proficiency. Beyond the classroom, Heilen enjoys drawing, cooking, and traveling with her family, having explored various U.S. states, including Minnesota, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and New York.

Raised as a global nomad, Sue lived in 8 countries before the age of 21. Inspired by this rich global experience, Sue went on to receive a Master’s degree in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity and has taught over 10,000 hours in Business and Academic English to more than 60 nationalities spanning every continent.Teaching ESL at the University of Pennsylvania, the Ivy League university ranked 7th along with MIT.

Sue instructed global executives enrolled in the Business Intensive Program (BIP) designed for corporate clients attending Penn’s Wharton Business School. Ranked 4th in the world, Wharton’s courses demand proficiency in Business English. Josh was born in Australia, he spent his early years in Seattle, Washington. He has lived in every state in Australia and many places overseas.
Josh has an associate’s degree in Philosophy and was a member of the Royal Australian navy for six years. He has traveled the world extensively following his passion for teaching and learning about other cultures. He has taught English in London, Bogota, Mendoza and now we are lucky to have him as one of our great instructors here in Naples, Florida.

Alejandra Ramirez

Alejandra was born in Colombia. She obtained her degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Industrial de Santander. She also completed a specialization in Project Management at EAFIT University in Colombia.

Alejandra enjoys traveling and has already visited several countries. She enjoys learning about their language and culture. She fell in love with languages when she had the incredible experience of living in Japan for six months as an exchange student.

Alejandra’s extensive professional experience was acquired by working with multinational, financial and industrial companies. One of her more cherished positions was at Philip Morris International, where she had the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world.
